Bhagat Singh




A heroic and revolutionary leader, Bhagat Singh was born in Banga, a small village in Punjab, on 27 September, 1907. Sardar Kishan Singh, a patriotic leader, and Vidyavati were his parents.

The incidents such as Jallianwala Bagh Massacre developed with in him an adherence to ward the alien government. Bhagat Singh formed the Hindustan Socialist Republican Army (HSRA) in association with Chandrasekhar Azad. It was formed to create a socialist India.

The death of Lala Lajpat Rai provoked the wrath of Bhagat Singh against the alien government. To avenge the death of Lala Lajpat Rai, Bhagat Singh and Rajguru killed the British officer who hit Lala Lajpat Rai. Later in 1929, Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt threw a bomb in the Legislative Assembly. As a result, Bhagat Singh was captured and put to death a day before the appointed day, on 23 March, 1931.
