Beas




Beas is a charming town situated on the banks of Beas River, in Amritsar District, Punjab. It is located 40 km south-east of Amritsar, on the way to Jalandhar.

Major point of attraction here is the Beas Ashram, which is visited by scores of devotees of all nationalities. The Shalimar Garden and Moorish Mosque in Kapurthala, Taran-Taran and the historic sites around Amritsar constitute interesting excursions outside the town.

Amritsar International Airport serves the town. Beas Railway Station is situated on the Amritsar-Jalandhar line. The Grand Trunk Road passes through Beas.
