Kottucherry




Kottucherry, a village with historical significance, is in Karaikal District of Pondicherry. It is 6 km north of Karaikal.

The prime site is the shrine of Sri Kodeeswaramudayar, the main worship place of the region. Another attraction is Perumalkoil Maidan, from where statue, a broken kuthuvilakku and vessels used for temple worship were excavated.

Buses are available from Karaikal to reach Kottucherry.
