Cuddalore Port




Cuddalore Port is in Cuddalore District, bordering Salem and Tiruchirapalli, in Tamil Nadu, situated at the confluence of the Gadilam and Paravanar rivers. Vessels anchor within one mile of the shore. The bar near the shore is at a depth of 10 to 15 m, and reduced to 3-4 ft during July-September.

The port facilities include wharf, 80,000 sq m of stacking area, cargo sheds, signaling, lighters, weigh-bridge, slipway and cargo handling practice. There are plinth areas for each of the cargo sheds. The lighthouse has a light that flashes white for a second in every 5 seconds. The elevation of the lighthouse is 19 m.
