Varaha

An Incarnation of Lord Vishnu

Lord Vishnu is one among the trinity of Hindu gods. He is supposed to have taken ten incarnations, to extricate the world from the deluge of sin, each time. Varaha (boar) is the name of his third incarnation. Taking the Varahavatara (boar incarnation) he killed the demon Hiranyaksha and lifted the earth out of the flood waters in which it had been submerged.
