Barpali




Barpali Town is situated about 25 km south of Baragarh, on the National Highway No 209 from Baragarh to Bariguma via Balangir, in Orissa. Noted for its textile and bell metal industries, the town is largely populated with weavers, and gold and silver smiths.

Barpali is also famous for its locally produced silk and cotton saris and dress materials. The tie and dye system in weaving and the unique Bomkai prints are famous in Indian market.

Barpali is the birthplace of the renowned poet Gangadhar Meher.

Bargarh Road Railway Station is the nearest railhead. Raipur Airport is about 240 km from Baragarh.
