Padampur, a place of historical importance, is situated in Gondiya District, Maharashtra. It is the birth place of the great Sanskrit scholar, Bhavbhuti, who wrote famous plays such as Malti Madhav, Mahavir Charita and Uttar Ram Charita. Ancient idols have been found here.
