Lanjigarh




Lanjigarh is a village situated to 64 km south-east of Bhawanipatna, near the Kalahandi-Koraput border, in Orissa. It was the erstwhile headquarters of Lanjigarh Zamindari under Kalahandi Ex-state. The village has some fortifications with a large moat around. It contains the temples of Gopinath and Goddess Dokari. Bansadhara River originates from this hilly area.

The Jhami Yatra or Jhamu Yatra, falls in the month of Chaitra (March - April), is a major draw attended by thousands of people from far and near.
