Sunabeda Wildlife Sanctuary




Sunabeda Wildlife Sanctuary in Nuapada District is located near border with Chhattisgarh on the western fringe of Orissa.

This is a 600 sq km sanctuary of dry deciduous forests. Considered to be an ideal habitat for Barasingha, this sanctuary is inhabited by tiger, leopard, hyena, barking deer, chital, gaur, sambar deer, sloth bear, and varieties of birds such as hill myna, pea fowl, partridge and a number of reptilian species.

Nuapada is a nearby town.
