Chiplima

Chiplima is known for its waterfall, the Hirakud Dam and Huma Temple. It has gained fame as the second hydro-electric project of Hirakud Dam. A natural fall of the river Mahanadi splashing down from a height of 80 ft is harnessed for generating electricity. An ideal picnic spot, this place is also known for housing the Ghanteshwari Temple. The State Live Stock Breeding Farm and an Agricultural Farm are also located here. Chiplima, around 36 km from Sambalpur, is easily accessible by road. The nearest railhead for Chiplima is Hirakud railway station, about 22 km.
