Becon Island

Becon Island is an architectural marvel noted for a conical pillar and a small room constructed on a submerged mass of rock in Rambha bay, near the Ghantasila hill. Built by Snodgrass, the then collector of Ganjam, it has been a favorite location for him to do his office work and for relaxation.

The ornamental pillar was constructed to put a light on the top. The scenic Eastern Ghats surrounding from the sides and the charming waters around makes it a much sought after tourist destination.

Becon Island is about 3 km from Rambha.
