Talcher

Talcher is one of the fastest growing industrial towns in the east coast of Orissa. The erstwhile capital of the ex-state of Talcher, the region is commonly referred to as the Talcher-Angul Industrial Belt. Vast reserves of coal lie in this belt and hence the area is home to large scale industry units like Talcher Thermal Power Station, the largest coal-based fertilizer plant, heavy water plant, National Aluminium company Ltd., and the Talcher Collieries. There are smaller industrial units as well, producing a range of products. The region is well connected by road and rail.
