Wokha




Situated at an altitude of 1300 m, Wokha is the headquarters of Wokha District in Nagaland. It is 80 km north of Kohima.

Wokha is famous for its best varieties of oranges and pineapples. It is a trade and agricultural center for grains (mainly rice) and fruits. There are some cottage industries such as weaving, pottery making, and woodworking. The prominent attractions are Mount Tiyi, Totsu, and Liphanyan Governor's Camp. Wokha is the home of the Lotha tribe. The nearby villages are dotted with monoliths erected by ancestors.

Wokha is 80 km south of Mokokchung. Dimapur Airport is the nearest airport. Nearest railhead is Furkating Junction Railway Station (58 km).
