Situated at a height of about 4,061 m above sea level, Longching is one of the main towns in Mon District of Nagaland. It is to the south of Mon and about 17 km from Tamkhung. Konyaks comprise most of the population here.

Towns near to Longching are Chantongia (24 km) in the west, Chingtang (11 km) in the north, Chen (18 km) in the east and Yangching (12 km) in the south.

Simaluguri Junction Railway Station in Assam is the closest railway station.
