Phek, the district headquarters of
Phek District in
Nagaland, is 134 km east of
Kohima.
Phek is the hometown of '
Chakhesang' and 'Pochury' tribes. It is famous for rare tragopan birds and several varieties of beautiful orchids. This area is the habitat of the world famous Blyth's Tragopan, a pheasant of Nagaland.
The prominent attractions are Pfutsero, Kezakenoma and Shilloi Lake. The principal festival ‘Tsukhenyie’ is celebrated during March-April.
Nearest airport and railway station are at Dimapur.
