Intanki Wildlife Sanctuary



Sprawling over an area of 202 sq km, Intanki is an exotic wildlife sanctuary located 37 km from Dimapur, in Nagaland.

Intanki is home to a large variety of flora and fauna. Hillock Baboon, the only gibbon found in India, can be sighted here. Major animal species found here include mithun, sambar, barking deer, goral, flying squirrel, wild dog, tiger and sloth bear. The bird species found here include Kaleej, common pheasant, black stork and hornbill. It is also a habitat for large number of migratory birds during seasons.

Intanki Wildlife Sanctuary is about 111 km north-west of Kohima, the capital of Nagaland. The nearest airport is at Dimapur which is also the closest railway station.
