Mamit District




Mamit is one of the eight districts of Mizoram. It spreads over an area of 2,967 sq km and has a population of 62,313. The major towns are Mamit, Kawrthah and West Phaileng. Mizo, English and Hindi are the languages spoken. Agriculture is the mainstay of the people. Rice and maize are the main crops grown.
