Tansa is a picturesque lake, housed within the
Tansa Wildlife Sanctuary, in Thane District, Maharashtra. It is one of the largest lakes supplying water to Mumbai. It is a perennial source of water supply to the wildlife in the sanctuary.
Tansa Lake can be accessed by road from Shahapur located on the Mumbai-Agra National Highway No 3.
The nearest airport is at Mumbai (90 km).
