Takli, near
Nasik in
Maharashtra, is associated with the Saint
Samarth Ramdas who was the guru (teacher) of
Chhatrapati Shivaji. It is the place where the saint sat in meditation on
Lord Ram, for 12 years till he attained divine knowledge. There is a beautiful Hanuman temple here on the banks of river Nandini and an
ashram (residence) that is believed to have been the abode of Ramdas at Takli.
