Sahar




Sahar is a small town in Chhata taluk of Mathura District. It lies 27 km north of Mathura and 10 km from Chhata.

About 14 km from Sahar is Nandgaon, a place where Nanda, foster-father of Lord Krishna was born. Nandagram Temple and Pan Sarovar, one of the four important lakes of Braj Bhoomi, are located here. Other places of interest include Barsana (11 km) and Jait (14 km).

Latthmar Holi, a festival at Barsana, is one of the important events celebrated in the district.

Sahar town is on the road that connects Barsana and Jait. Kosi Kalan Railway Station and Agra Civil Enclaves serve the town.
