Lekhan Hills



Lenyadri, also known as Lenaya Parvath or Lekhan Hills, is situated at the village of Junnar, about 160 km from Pune. The hill offers a panoramic view of nature. This place is believed to have been blessed by the presence of Lord Ganesh. Lekhan Hills provides home to an ancient temple, Girijatmaj Temple. This temple is constructed out of stone and is dominated by stone pillars. Devotees need to climb 283 steps to access the temple. The presiding idol of this temple is believed to be installed by Goddess Parvati. Thousands of devotees throng the hill during the major festival celebrated in the month of Bhadrapada and Magh. Pune Lohegaon Airport is the nearest airport.
