Patharwata lies on the banks of the Godavari, towards the north-western boundary of Beed District, in central Maharashtra. It is very near the district’s border, which it shares with Jalna, Ahmednagar and Aurangabad districts. Umapur is south-east, while Badhegaon is towards the south-west.
