Bhamragarh Wildlife Sanctuary




Bhamragarh Wildlife Sanctuary is located at Chandrapur District of Maharashtra. It covers about 105 sq km of area and vegetation consists of moist deciduous mix forests. The sanctuary is around 120 km south-west of Chandrapur.

The sanctuary is the habitat for a variety of wild animals such as leopard, jungle fowl, wild boar and sloth bear. Besides, barking deer, blue bull, peacock and flying squirrel are also spotted.

Himalkasa Lok Biradari Project is in the sanctuary area.

The best time to visit is February to May.

The nearest airport is Sonegaon Airport at Nagpur. Nearest major railhead is at Chandrapur.
