Alibag

Alibag is a famous city on the western coast of India, located in Raigad District, Maharashtra. The place contains some beautiful beaches. Near the city is the historic fort of Kulaba, built by Chhatrapati Shivaji in 1680. This fort is now in ruins, but still it is a great place to visit. Other tourist destinations in the city include the Magnetic Observatory and the Shree Vikram Vinayak temple, Kihim beach and Mandwa beach. The beaches at Alibag are ideal for sunbathing and long walks. Swimming is prohibited at these beaches as there are strong undercurrents.
