Ghatkopar

From a quaint village in 1920’s and 30’s, Ghatkopar has transformed into a bustling commercial and residential center in the vast metropolis of Mumbai. It is located at the eastern suburbs of Mumbai, about 8 km north-east of Bandra.

Ghatkopar lies near the Western Ghats. Hence the name, which is a combination of two words – ‘Ghat’ and Khopara (means ‘corner’ in Marathi).

Ghatkopar Railway Station is situated on the Kurla - Vikhroli suburban rail route. Kurla Railway Terminus lies to the south-west of Ghatkopar. Chembur is around 5 km south of Ghatkopar.

Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is about 5 km to the west. Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus is around 20 km south.
