Christmas, the main religious festival of Christians throughout the world, celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, the Messiah and the Savior of the entire mankind. In India, the Christians who form a large chunk of the population - particularly in Goa, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Mizoram, Nagaland and Chhattisgarh - celebrate the festival with great devotion, pomp and show. Special prayers and services are held in the churches all across the country.
