Khodala




Khodala is a mountainous and thickly forested locale, located about 140 km from Dadar, in Thane District. Khodala is 155 km north-east of Mumbai and 110 km from Thane.

Deobandh Temple, dedicated to Lord Ganesh, forms the prime attraction here. Amala Wildlife Sanctuary, Upper Vaitarna Dam and Jawhar (40 km) are some of the tourist destinations, within easy reach from Khodala.

The place provides an ideal base for sightseeing and trekking, and a 40 km trek across the Sahyadris from Khodala is popular.

By road, Khodala is 30 km from Igatpuri and 70 km from Nasik. Igatpuri Railway Station, served by the Central Railways, is the nearest railhead. Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is the nearest airport.
