Pali Ballaleshwar Temple, also known as Ballaleshwar Vinayak Temple, is one of the
Ashta Vinayaka temples dedicated to
Lord Ganesh in
Maharashtra. It is located at Pali in
Raigad District.
The temple enshrines a 3 ft tall image of Lord Ganesh with Siddhi and Buddhi on either side. The deity here is known as ‘Ballaleshwar,’ after a devotee Ballal of Pali. Earlier a wooden temple, it was renovated and a new stone temple was built in AD 1760. The temple complex is tiled and is encircled by two lakes. This east-facing temple is built in the form of the letter ‘shree’. Most noteworthy feature of the temple is that the Sun's rays fall on the image of Ganesh during Dakshinayana (July - December).
