Jeevdhan Fort




Jeevdhan is a hill fort in the Malshej region of Thane District. It is at an altitude of 3,754 ft. The base village of the fort is Ghatghar. From Ghatghar, it is hardly a 3 hr climb through dense forest. The 60 m high watch tower of the fort is also called Vanar Lingi (Monkey's point). The walls of the fort drop about 1000 m into the Konkan. Five water reservoirs are also found at the hilltop.

The best season to visit Jeevdhan is from September to March. Kalyan is the railway station nearest to this place.
