Sankashti Chaturthi




Sankashti Chaturthi falls on the fourth day of the second fortnight of every month on the Hindu Calendar. Devotees fast for a whole day and break their fast after having darshan of Lord Moon and worshipping Lord Ganesh. This vow is observed to get rid of problems in life. The fast is ended by offering meal to Brahmin. Ganesh Atharvashirsha Avartan (recitation of Lord Ganesh) is performed on Sankashti Chaturthi. Abhisheka is also performed to the lord.
