Changdev Temple




Changdev Temple is a 3000 year old temple located at Changdeo village in Edlabad Taluk of Jalgaon District. The temple is dedicated to the great ascetic Changdeo Maharaj. It is believed that this holy saint lived for a period of 1400 years. Tradition recounts that the people who were dead during the deep meditation period of great Changdeo came to life as if they were waking up from deep sleep. The temple known for its traditional architecture, is decorated with carved stone idols.

The annual festivals celebrated at the temple are Mahashivratri for 6 days and Jestha Shuddha Saptami.

The Changdeo Fair, during the month of Magha (January-February), is celebrated with pomp and splendor by the devotees.

The nearest airport is at Nagpur (177 km) and nearest railway station is at Chandrapur (91 km).
