Vishalgad Fort




Vishalgad Fort is located at a distance of 60 km northwest of Panhala and 18 km south from Kolhapur -Ratnagiri Road. The fort, situated on a mountain, is separated by a deep narrow riven from the road terminus. Now the fort is known as the place of Malik Raihan Dargah. There is a Sati Mandir in memory of Ambadevi (the queen of King Rajaram I), who burned as Sati after her husband's death. The fort has a Samadhi or tomb of great warrior Baji Prabhu Deshpande who fought until death with Siddi Masood, commander of Adilshaha.
