Changdeo Fair

Changdeo Fair is celebrated in a small village, Changdeo, in the month of Magha (January-February). A renowned sage Markandeya, who lived centuries ago, had practiced penance there. The fair is held to honor him. Almost 80,000 devotees gather there every year. Most of the devotees are workers and peasants from the Vidarbha region of the state.
