Flying Rani Express




Flying Rani Express (also spelt Flying Ranee Express) was introduced in 1906. It is also known as Flying Queen Express and is often referred to as 'the Queen of the West Coast.' This is the fastest medium distance train in the country. It carries office goers and regular commuters between Mumbai Central Railway Station in Maharashtra and Surat Railway Station in Gujarat.

Started as a weekend special train, Flying Rani Express today runs throughout the week. It covers a distance of 263 km and the main towns on the way are Andheri, Borivali, Palghar, Dahanu, Vapi and Valsad. First class, A/C chair car and second seating coaches are available with separate dining facilities for vegetarians and non vegetarians. It has ten double deck cars with a capacity of 148 passengers each. The pantry car serves light meals and snacks. Reservations for the third class could be made one day in advance.

Train number 9021: Mumbai to Surat, leaves Mumbai at 17:55 hrs.
Train number 9022: Surat to Mumbai, leaves Surat at 05:25 hrs.
