Ambegaon




Ambegaon is a taluk located in Pune District. Pune- Nasik highway divides this are into two parts - north and south. Northern part of the taluk is very dry. In the southern part the rainfall is heavy and is ideal for agriculture, especially rice and other vegetables. Ambegaon houses a large number of adivasi groups. Rivers Ghod and Dhimbe provide water to the area. Bullock cart races are an important part of the culture. The main festival celebrated here is Janta Utsav. Major tourist attractions in the area include the temple of Bhimashankar and Dhimbe dam.
