Gyaraspur Mahadevi Temple, built in Prathihara style, is a partly rock-cut temple situated in Vidisha District, Madhya Pradesh. The drawings and the architectural features indicate it to be of the late 9th century.
The temple consists of a porch, hall, vestibule and sanctum with an ambulatory. The sanctum is tri-ratha with a pancha-ratha Shikhara of nine towers. The projections of the Shikhara extend up to the neck, which is surmounted by a pair of amalakas and a pot finial. There are three windows in the shorter sides, of which two windows projects from the mandapam and one from the sanctum. The roofs of the porch and the hall are pyramidal in shape with horizontal tiers. It has two ornate doorways of five bands with the figures of Chakreshvari as the tutelary image. At the sanctum, there are carved images of Jinas standing in a row on the lintel.
Gyaraspur is situated 64 km north-east of Bhopal and 51 km north-east of Sanchi, on the Bhopal-Jabalpur route.
