Unhel




Unhel, earlier known as Toran, is an ancient village located about 40 km from Ujjain. The village is of archeological importance as it houses some ruins of the Gupta period. It was under Muslim rule for some period. Shri Unhel Tirth is the major point of attraction at Unhel. This is an old Jain temple dedicated to Bhagwan Parshwanath. The 105 cm tall, black-colored idol of the chief deity is in Padmasana posture. Thousands of devotees visit here to fulfill their wishes. Accommodation facilities are available at Unhel.
