A Sacred Island



Omkareshwar is a famous place of pilgrimage, situated 77 km from Indore, in Khandwa District, Madhya Pradesh. Shaped like the holy Hindu symbol ‘OM’, this sacred island, on the conflux of the rivers Narmada and Kaveri, is visited by pilgrims from all over the country, to seek blessings at the temple of Shri Omkar Mandhata.

Other points of interest include Siddhnath Temple, 24 Avatars, Satmatrika Temple (6 km) and Kajal Rani Cave (9 km).

Nearest airport is at Indore which has direct connections to Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal and Gwalior. Omkareshwar Road (12 km), on the Ratlam- Khandwa section of the Western Railway, is the closest rail head. Regular bus services connect Omkareshwar with Indore, Ujjain, Khandwa and Omkareshwar Road.
