Singaji Maharaj




Singaji Maharaj was a well-known celebrity of Nimar region in Madhya Pradesh. It is believed that he belonged to a poor Gavali (herdsman) family of Khajuri village in Barwani District. Singaji born in 15th century and his status was similar to the great poet Kabir.

Singaji was a disciple of saint Manrangeer. He practiced the Nirguna sect of Hindu religion. He believed that the god is absolute, and has no form and incarnation.

The samadhi of the saint is situated at Piplia in Harsud. Every year a large fair is held here on the occasion of Sharad Purnima.
