Morena




Morena, also called as Pech Morena, is the administrative headquarters of Morena District. The town is about 300 km north of Bhopal and is flanked by two historical cities, namely, Agra and Gwalior.

An agricultural trade center, Morena is known for its mustard fields and a delicious sweet called Ghazak. Oilseed milling and cotton weaving are the chief industries. Places of interest include Sihoniya, Pahadgarh, Mitawali Nurabad, The Fort of Sabalgarh and National Chambal Sanctuary.

The nearest airport, 46 km south, is at Gwalior. Morena Railway Station is on the Delhi-Mumbai railway line. The National Highway 75 passes through Morena.
