Jhabua, serving as the administrative headquarters of
Jhabua District, is situated on
Indore-
Ahmedabad National Highway. The town lies on the banks of Bahadur Sagar (lake). Founded in the 16th century, Jhabua was the capital of the former Jhabua princely state. Jhabua is 150 km west of Indore.
With hillocks and forests, it is the home of the tribal Bhils and Bhilalas. The town acts as a local agricultural and timber market.
Deojhiri and Alirajpur are nearby places of tourist interest.
