Damoh




Damoh, described as the city of grace and affection, is a small city of great historical importance in Madhya Pradesh. Formerly, the seat of Maratha governors, Damoh is also known as the crown of Vindhyachal and Sad-Bhawna Shikhar situated there is the highest point at 2467 ft.

Damoh holds a number of beautiful and sacred temples including Jatashankar which lies in the outskirts of the city and a 10th century Shiva temple, Nohleshwar. The other important tourist destinations include Giri Darshan, the Fort of Singaurgarh, Nidan Kund and Nazara. The famous Jain temple of Bade-Baba situated at Kundalpur is at a distance of 35 km.

The nearest airport is the Jabalpur Airport, 106 km away. The city has its own railway station and is well connected by roads.
