Bori Wildlife Sanctuary




Bori Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the southern slopes of Satpura Range, in the valley of the Bori River, in Hoshangabad District, Madhya Pradesh. Established in 1975, it is a wilderness set in imperial splendor in Central India. Spread over an area of 646 sq km, it is home to a large variety of flora and fauna.

Major animal species found here include tiger, panther, sambar, blue bull, chital, barking deer, four-horned antelope, bison, giant squirrel and hyena. The sanctuary is also rich in birdlife.

The best time to visit the sanctuary is from November to April.

The nearest airport is at Bhopal. Itarsi Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead. The sanctuary can be accessed from the Itarsi Bus Station.
