Barwah




Barwah is a taluk headquarters town in the Khargone District of Madhya Pradesh, around 18 km from Omkareshwar. Situated on the bank of the river Narmada, it is around 60 km north-east of Khargone. Indore (65 km south) and Khandwa (70 km north) are the towns nearby.

Omkareshwar Dam on the Cauvery River is the major landmark. Omkareshwar Shivlinga Temple is a major pilgrim center situated near Barwah. Maheshwar, Bhikangaon and Nanheshwar constitute interesting excursions nearby.

Devi Ahilya Bai Holeker Airport and Khandwa Railway Station serve Barwah.
