Badnawar




Badnawar lies about 50 kilometers north-west of Dhar. Ancient monuments of the 11-12th century AD including a few images bearing dates Vikram Samvat 1219, 1229, and 1336 corresponding to AD 1162, 1172, and 1279 respectively have been discovered. Badnawar is also famous for the magnificent Shiva temple and Udanya temple. The town has an old mosque constructed in AD 1688 and the remains of the fortress or garhi.

Indore Airport recently renamed Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport is at a distance of 72 km. The nearest railway station is at Badnagar,13 km from Badnawar.
