Maihar is an old town in
Satna District of
Madhya Pradesh. Maihar is 120 km east of
Khajuraho and 40 km from the district headquarters,
Satna.
The place is famous as home of the highly revered Sharda Devi Temple, perched atop a hill. Marble Rocks (Bhedaghat) and Rookhad constitute enchanting excursions.
Nearest airport is at Jabalpur.
Maihar Railway Station is situated on the Katni-Satna line of the West Central Railways.
