Bhind District

Bhind District, known for its ravines, fertile land and dense forests, is located in the northern part of Madhya Pradesh. It lies in the valleys of Chambal and the Sind, between the Kunwari and Pahuj rivers. The climate is moderate.

The total area is 4,459 sq km with a population of 1.2 million. The main languages are Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu.

The Fort of Ater, Vankhandeshwar Temple, Jain Temples of Baranso, Mata Renuka Temple, Naraddev Temple and the Fort of Gohad are popular tourist destinations. Dussehra, Diwali, Holi and Muharram are the famous festivals celebrated.
