Baijnath Mahadev Mandir

Baijnath Mahadev Mandir, also spelt Baijnath Mahadeo Mandir, is a delightful shrine located at Agar in Shajapur District of Madhya Pradesh. The presiding deity here is Lord Shiva.

Its construction is linked with Martin, the commander of Gorkha regiment of British Chhavani. The commander was once gone to a war. At that time his wife went to the Baijnath Mahadev and prayed for his successful return. It is believed that he successfully came back from the war, due to her prayer. Thus he built this Shiva temple at Agar.

Agar is about 80 km north-west of Shajapur, which hold the nearest railway station.
