Burhanpur District




Burhanpur, a newly created district in Madhya Pradesh, is situated on the bank of river Tapti. It was an important place during the Mughal rule. A number of mosques, tombs and historical monuments impart an antique look to Burhanpur.

Aahoo Khana, Asirgarh Fort, Nepa Newsprint Paper Mill, Bibi Ki Masjid (Mosque of the lady), Dargah-e-Hakimi, Mahal Gulara, Quilah Gardens, Tomb of Raja Jay Singh, Tomb of Shah Nawaz Khan, Tomb of Hazrat Shah Nizamuddin (Hazrat Shah Bhikari), Shah Jahani Hamam are some of the interesting places to visit.
