Manua Bhan Ki Tekri

A Jain Temple

Situated on top of a hill, 7 km away from Bhopal on the Gwalior road, is this Jain temple of Manua Bhan Ki Tekri. An important point of pilgrimage for the devotees, the Tekri enshrines an idol of Shri Man Bhadarji. It also treasures the foot wears of Jain saint Maharaj Shri Vijay Suriji, Shri Jindutta Sureshwarji and Acharya Manutung. An old manuscript carved in stone, situated at the Simha Gate of the temple is another point of interest. The language of the carvings is yet to be deciphered. It is also said to be the Sadhana Sthali of the Oswal Dynasty. A big fair organised here during Karthik Purnima draws scores of people from far and near.
